29 September 2009 - 19:50Questioning…

Lately I have been questioning if I am happy with my current job. Not sure if it is just a bad few weeks or I am not happy with my job anymore. More soul searching will follow…

13 September 2009 - 15:35Got Sauce?

This weekend, I did a second round of canning of tomato sauce. Our tomato plants are still providing red, ripe roma and sauce tomatoes. This time, I did the project solo…which seemed to take forever. For ease, I made the sauce in the crockpot, which was super easy and made the house smell delicious (I highly recommend this for everyone). The sauce looked and smelled better than last round. I also canned in pint jars rather than quart jars as pint jars are the perfect size for a dinner for two. So now I have five beautiful pints of tomato sauce sitting on my counter. Yumm!

8 September 2009 - 18:44Day One Survived

Well, I survived the first day of school. We had a few bumps in the road…including an early morning room clear. Once we cleared those bumps, the day was quite calm and smooth. Day one is done and I am still alive…exhausted…but still in one piece and eager to return tomorrow.

It’s really wasn’t a bad day to work for free!

7 September 2009 - 15:45Be Our Guest

That seems to be the tune around here…but I can’t sing as well as Mrs. Potts. After updating our guest room a few weeks ago, I decided that I would fix up guest bathroom. With my mom as one of my three decorating consultants (Rebecca and Deanna are the other ones), we headed to Bed, Bath and Beyond. I wanted to get a new shower curtain, but we just continued to find lots of good things. And before we knew it, we had a cartful of items for the bathroom. I was pretty proud of myself because I picked most things out on my own, which normally I rely on my ‘consultants’ to do. But I picked out a majority of the items and my mom was there to make sure I was coordinating right. Check out the before and after.

Since fixing up the guest bedroom, we have already had two rounds of guest with at least two more scheduled in the next few months. With Duck season here, our guest room and guest bathroom will have lots of use. So if you are ever in Eugene and need a place to stay…be our guest!
